Stockmann Group's parent company, Stockmann plc, changes its name to Lindex Group plc; department stores continue under the Stockmann brand
Stockmann plc, Press Release 21.3.2024 at 16:16 EET
The Annual General Meeting of Stockmann plc held today on 21 March 2024 has decided to change the name of Stockmann Group's parent company from Stockmann Oyj Abp to Lindex Group Oyj. The new parallel trade names will be Lindex Group plc in English and Lindex Group Abp in Swedish.
The parent company's name change does not affect the iconic Stockmann department store brand, the Stockmann department store names or the online store. Correspondingly, the Lindex fashion stores and online store continue to operate under the current Lindex brand. The Group’s previous and new brand hierarchy are shown in the attached figure.
As part of the name change, the company will adopt a new logo, which is also attached to this release. The Group will start using the new name and logo first in legal, group communications and investor relations contexts. The Group’s current website domain stockmanngroup.com will be replaced by a new domain, which is lindex-group.com. The changes related to the new parent company name will be made gradually.
The name change will be registered in the Finnish Trade Register on or about 22 March 2024. In connection with this, the company's name will be changed in the book-entry system and Nasdaq Helsinki's trading system. The share’s current trading code, STOCKA, will also change as a result of the change in the business name. The new trading code is expected to be LINDEX. The changes are expected to be implemented within a few business days. The company will publish a separate stock exchange release on the changes once the name change has been registered in the Finnish Trade Register.
The ISIN code for the company’s share (FI0009000251) and the company’s Business ID (0114162-2) will remain unchanged.
Background
As announced in Stockmann plc’s press release on 23 February 2024, the name change of the parent company Stockmann plc reflects the Lindex division’s strengthened role in the Group’s business. Over the years, Lindex has had a fundamental role in improving the Group’s performance, shown in the strategic refocusing of the Group's business to Lindex, as announced in Stockmann plc's stock exchange release on 25 September 2023. In 2023, Lindex represented two thirds of the Stockmann Group’s revenue and generated an adjusted operating result of over EUR 90 million.
