Stockmann is encouraging its customers to donate some Christmas spirit to Hope families
This Christmas, Stockmann and Hope – Yhdessä & Yhteisesti ry want to donate some Christmas spirit to Finnish families with children that have limited means or have experienced a crisis. The cooperation will start on Friday 30 October on social media with the aim of helping thousands of Hope families during Christmas, providing them with Christmas gifts consisting of actual products or recreational activities. All the Stockmann department stores in Finland will be participating in the Hope cooperation.
“We are pleased and excited about the soon-to-be-launched cooperation with Stockmann. Hope is made up of volunteers working together for a good cause. This cooperation will provide us with additional resources, raise the profile of our work and, most importantly, give us the opportunity to help more families in need,” says Eveliina Hostila, Executive Director of Hope – Yhdessä & Yhteisesti ry.
“We want everyone to participate in giving and sharing the Christmas spirit and helping families with children that need assistance. There are many ways to participate in the charity cooperation if you identify with this cause. Through Stockmann, you can donate old toys that are in good condition or buy some of the presents or recreational activities on the Hope families’ wish lists,” says Concept Manager Johanna Wallden, who is in charge of Stockmann’s Christmas concept and the Hope cooperation.
One child’s old toy is another child’s new treasure
From 20 to 22 November, Stockmann and Hope will be organising an event at every Stockmann department store in Finland where people can donate old toys that are in good condition and find out more about Hope’s operations and the Hope families’ Christmas wish lists. Matkahuolto will participate in the event weekend in their branch offices and as a logistics partner. More detailed information and instructions for the event can be found at: stockmann.com/tapahtumat.
Spread some happiness to Hope families by donating what they wish for
Stockmann’s customers can brighten up Christmas for the Hope families by donating some of the gifts included in their wish lists. Hope ry and Stockmann will publish lists of the presents the children and teenagers have wished for in the Stockmann department stores and on Stockmann’s Facebook page on 20 November. Customers can donate items on the Hope families’ wish lists at the department stores and write a personal Christmas greeting to the child or teenager on the card attached to the present. Stockmann will give a 20 per cent discount on every wish list item bought by a customer and wrap the gift for the recipient. Hope will deliver the presents to the recipient families through Matkahuolto before Christmas Eve.
