STOCKMANN’S CEO HANNU PENTTILÄ APPOINTED AS PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL
DEPARTMENT STORE ORGANIZATION IADS
The general assembly of the international department store organization
IADS at present assembled in Berlin, appointed today, October 19, 2006,
Stockmann’s CEO Hannu Penttilä as president of the organization for the
next biennium. Penttilä’s predecessor as chairman is Philippe Houzé, CEO
of the French Galeries Lafayette.
IADS (International Association of Department Stores), with headquarters
in Paris, is an organization representing 22 department store companies in
different parts of the world. The cooperation within IADS, as well as
exchange of information and experience, are of great importance to the
business operations of the member companies. Among the members are e.g.
Galeries Lafayette of France, de Bijenkorf of Holland, Kaufhof and
Breuninger of Germany, Globus of Switzerland, John Lewis Partnership of
England, El Corte Ingles of Spain and Hudson’s Bay Company of Canada. The
most distant member companies are Falabella of Chile and Beijing Hualian
in China. Stockmann is the only Finnish company among the members.
