STOCKMANN GROUP’S SALES IN FEBRUARY 2005
In February, the Stockmann Group’s sales amounted to EUR 125.8 million, up
5 per cent. Sales by Hobby Hall, the Department Store Division and Seppälä
improved clearly. Sales by Stockmann Auto was down as the figures for 2004
include, up to the end of June, the sales by the Volkswagen-Audi car
dealership in Herttoniemi that was transferred to Kesko. Sales by
Stockmann Auto exclusive of the Herttoniemi unit grew by 4 per cent.
The best sales growth, 18 per cent, was reported by Hobby Hall. The
division’s sales grew by 23 per cent in Finland and decreased by 3 per
cent abroad due to the withdrawal from operations in Lithuania.
Sales by the Department Store Division grew by 10 per cent. The division’s
sales grew by 4 per cent in Finland and by 37 per cent abroad. The brisk
growth in the Department Store Division’s sales is attributable to the new
department stores and Zara stores opened in Moscow in 2004 as well as to
the strong like-for-like sales growth in the department stores in the
Baltic countries.
Sales by Seppälä grew by 11 per cent; the growth was 7 per cent in Finland
and 48 per cent abroad. The strong growth in Seppälä’s sales is
attributable mainly to the expanded store network in the Baltic countries
and Russia.
