STOCKMANN GROUP’S SALES IN MAY
In May, the Stockmann Group’s sales were up 11 per cent, amounting to EUR
146.0 million. Sales by the Vehicle Division continued to grow vigorously
and were up as much as 33 per cent on May last year. The Department Store
Division’s sales grew by 7 per cent and Hobby Hall’s sales by 2 per cent.
The fashion business in Finland has all the spring been tame. That was
reflected also in Seppälä’s sales, which were 10 per cent down on May
2002. Seppälä’s largest store in Estonia, located in Tallinn’s Viru
Centre, will be closed for renovation for about a year.
