Sharing the Christmas spirit for all through charity campaigns over the festive period

Stockmann’s long-standing cooperation with its charity partners will continue this year again through Christmas campaigns. Our customers can participate in the campaigns in our department stores and online store.

Save the Children Finland collects money to support low-income families with children

Stockmann continues its long-standing cooperation with Save the Children by implementing the Christmas Give a Gift for the Future charity campaign for children and young people in Finland. The campaign will start in Stockmann department stores and the stockmann.com online store on 1 November 2024.  By participating in the campaign, Stockmann customers can support low-income families and children at risk of social exclusion in Finland.

Around 120,000 children live in low-income families in Finland. This number is estimated to increase by almost 17,000 children due to cuts in social security. Families already living on low incomes will face even greater hardship this Christmas. More and more families are even struggling to buy food. With the funds raised during the Christmas campaign, Save the Children will give out food vouchers, recreational and educational materials. In addition, the organisation provides children from families in difficult circumstances with support persons, godparents and online chat support, for example.

Save the Children’s charity campaign is running from 1 November to 31 December 2024. Stockmann customers can buy €10, €20 and €50 gift cards available at the checkouts in the department stores. Gift cards worth €10 are available in the stockmann.com online store.

“We are delighted to continue our long-standing cooperation with Stockmann. Poverty will continue to affect more and more children in Finland and the need for support is even greater now. We would like to thank Stockmann and its customers for their support," says Johanna Mäkelä, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Save the Children Finland.

Delighting seniors with flowers

For many seniors, Christmas is the loneliest festive time of year. That’s why we want to continue delighting seniors and our collaboration with the Kotona Asuen Seniorihoiva through the popular Be Santa for a Senior campaign.

You can participate in the Christmas flower campaign from 8 November to 17 December in all Stockmann department stores in Finland by buying a donation flower from the garden department of the stores. If you wish, you can also leave a small, personalised Christmas greeting for a senior citizen. The flowers will be delivered by Christmas to delight their recipients.

"We are pleased to once again provide opportunities for donations and flower surprises. We warmly welcome everyone to take part in Christmas charity campaigns in our department stores or in our online store," says Mia Ranta-aho, Head of Sustainability.
