STOCKMANN GROUP SALES IN MAY 2008

Stockmann Group’s sales in May increased by 57 per cent to EUR 189
million. The reasons for strong growth were including of Lindex sales
figures in the Stockmann Group’s sales, Department Store Divisions good
growth figures in the Finnish and Baltic markets and also good growth of
Seppälä especially in Russia.

Sales of Department Store Division increased by 6 per cent. Sales were up
8 per cent in Finland and decreased one per cent abroad. The reason for
sales decrease abroad were illegal measures used by the landlord which
forced Stockmann to temporarily close one of its department stores in
Moscow on May 13. Sales of Stockmann’s other department stores in Russia
developed well.

Sepp√§l√§’s sales increased by 7 per cent, 4 per cent in Finland and 15 per
cent abroad.

Lindex’s sales development was strong especially in the Swedish and
Norwegian markets.

Sales of Hobby Hall decreased by 19 per cent, 15 per cent in Finland and
30 per cent abroad. The monthly volatility of Hobby Hall’s sales figures
is high, due to different timing of campaign catalogues from year to year.
