STOCKMANN GROUP’S SALES IN NOVEMBER 2003

STOCKMANN plc STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE December 10, 2003, 15.30 p.m.

STOCKMANN GROUP’S SALES IN NOVEMBER 2003

In November, the Stockmann Group’s sales were up 1 per cent and totalled
EUR 149.6 million. The best growth in sales, 4 per cent, was reached by
the Department Store Division, thanks to the favourable growth in the
International Operations. The Department Store Division’s sales figures
include the sales of the Riga department store in Latvia which was opened
in October. Both Seppälä’s and the Vehicle Division’s sales were down 1
per cent on the previous year. Sales by Hobby Hall were down 3 per cent on
the previous year.

After the excellent growth in sales in October, the sales in November
turned to be poor. However, the Group sales in October-November still grew
by 5.5 per cent. The warm and rainy weather in November had a negative
impact especially on the clothing business. This year’s continuos growth
in the vehicle sales ceased as the sales of trade-in vehicles were clearly
down on the last year’s figures.
