STOCKMANN GROUP SALES IN OCTOBER 2008

In October, Stockmann Group’s consolidated sales grew by 27 per cent to
EUR 224 million. The growth was attributable to including Lindex’s sales
in the Stockmann Group’s figures and the growth of sales by Seppälä.

Seppälä’s total sales increased by 7 per cent. Sales grew by 3 per cent in
Finland and by 14 per cent abroad, thanks to good sales development
especially in Russia.

Lindex’s sales declined in Sweden, Norway and Finland but had steady
growth in other markets.

Department Store Division’s sales decreased by 6 per cent. Sales in
Finland decreased by 6 per cent and sales abroad by 4 per cent. Sales
abroad decreased because of closure in May of the department store in the
Smolensky Passage shopping centre in Moscow due to illegal action of the
lessor. Sales in other department stores in Moscow developed very well
(comparable growth 40 per cent). The important Crazy Days promotion
achieved again new sales record, calculated on comparable amount of
stores. In Moscow, three department stores sold during the campaign more
than four department stores in autumn 2007.

Sales of Hobby Hall decreased by 11 per cent, 10 per cent in Finland and
12 per cent abroad. Hobby Hall’s sales are affected by a weaker sales of
digital TV sets and set top boxes compared to the digitalization boom in
2007 and the strong price erosion of the same product group.
