Stockmann’s charity campaigns brought joy during Christmas season
Stockmann plc, Responsibility news, 20 January 2020
Stockmann’s customers took part in charity campaigns held in department stores during Christmas season, supporting and bringing joy to numerous youngsters and seniors.
Stockmann, together with Save the Children, organized a charity campaign at Stockmann department stores in Finland during Christmas season. The campaign started on Children’s Rights Day on November 20th and continued until Christmas Eve. Stockmann’s customers were able to purchase special gift cards of various sums to choose from, to support the studies and hobbies of Finnish children, raising a total amount of approximately EUR 25,800.
In addition, Stockmann once again took part in a campaign organised by Senior Care for Seniors Living at Home (Kotona Asuen Seniorihoiva), encouraging customers to buy Christmas flowers for lonely elderly people. The flower campaign lasted for a month, starting November 18th, in Stockmann’s department stores in Helsinki, Tapiola, Itis, Jumbo and Tampere. With the help of the campaign, the organisation delivered nearly 1,700 flower donations purchased from Stockmann department stores to surprise seniors.
“We would like to extend a warm thank you to all our customers who participated in the charity campaigns, which allowed us to raise a great sum to support children’s hobbies and studies, and a large amount of Christmas flowers to cheer up seniors during Christmas time,” says CSR Manager Emilia Gädda from Stockmann.
