Stockmann’s Nevsky Centre shopping centre celebrates fifth anniversary
Stockmann’s Nevsky Centre shopping centre, located in St Petersburg, celebrates its fifth anniversary today, on 11 November 2015.
Stockmann acquired a commercial site, located in the heart of historical St Petersburg, for the shopping centre in 2006. The property is fully owned by Stockmann. Approximately a half of the 100 000 square-metre shopping centre is retail space, used by stores and offices. The new facade of the shopping centre was built to closely match the facades of demolished buildings in order to preserve the historic cityscape unchanged.
The Nevsky Centre is located centrally on the corner of Nevsky Prospect and Vosstaniya Street, next to the Vosstaniya Square metro station and very near the Moscow railway station.
The Nevsky Centre shopping centre has commercial services on seven floors. Besides housing Stockmann’s department store with 20 000 square metres of retail space, the shopping centre has over 70 retail and service companies, dozens of cafeterias and restaurants, as well as office premises and an underground car park. The total investment made for the department store and the shopping centre was approximately 200 million euros.
The festive opening for the department store and the shopping centre was celebrated in November 2010 and now in November 2015 the Nevsky Centre is celebrating its fifth anniversary together with its customers.
