STOCKMANN GROUP SALES IN NOVEMBER 2008

In November, Stockmann Group’s consolidated sales grew by 28 per cent to
EUR 181.3 million. The growth was attributable to including Lindex’s sales
in the Stockmann Group’s figures and the growth in Seppälä’s sales.

Seppälä’s total sales increased by 2 per cent. Sales declined by 6 per
cent in Finland but grew by 19 per cent abroad, thanks to good sales
development in Russia which came from new stores and a strong increase in
the comparable sales.

Lindex’s sales declined in Sweden, Norway and Finland but increased in
other markets.

The Department Store Division’s sales decreased by 8 per cent. Sales
decreased by 7 per cent in Finland and by 9 per cent abroad. Sales abroad
diminished because of a decline in sales in the Baltic states and the
closure in May of the department store in the Smolensky Passage shopping
centre in Moscow due to illegal action of the lessor. Sales in the other
department stores in Moscow continued to develop very favourably
(comparable growth 28 per cent).

Sales by Hobby Hall decreased by 11 per cent, 9 per cent in Finland and 16
per cent abroad. Hobby Halls’s sales were especially affected by a weaker
sales of digital TV sets and set top boxes compared to the digitalization
boom in 2007 and the strong price erosion in the product group in
question.
