STOCKMANN REDUCES THE LOT SIZE OF ITS SHARE

Stockmann plc has applied to Helsinki Stock Exchange for the reduction of the
lot
size of its shares from the current 50 to 20 shares. The change will be valid as
of July 1, 2005.

With the reduction of the lot size Stockmann wants to increase the trading
volume
of its shares and to improve the liquidity of the share.

The shares of Stockmann are listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange. Stockmann has
two series of shares: A-share (STCAS) and B-share (STCBV). The total number of
shares is 53,847,712.
